Unfortunately because way too many people have started contacting me via text and phone at really unreasonable hours, I prefer all contact initially to be via email or via facebook. It’s worth sharing a text which was sent early one Sunday morning. I was operating on limited sleep not long after the birth of pups. I shouldn’t even need to explain myself and justify this. Please remember, dogs are my hobby, not my job:
You can thank this woman, I’d say in her late 20’s, who is the reason I no longer have my phone number of my website. She objected to me telling her I was still in bed.
And then there’s the ones where the writer explains why he’s sending a text at 9.10pm on a Saturday night “My kids are bugging me to find out more about your dogs.” Oh dude, if you can’t teach your kids manners, how will you possibly train a pup?
To be frank, I’m a little concerned that people think it’s 100% fine to wake me up to talk about pups. If you seriously can’t wait until an appropriate time to touch base, then I am not the breeder for you, and in all likelihood, you’re not going to have the patience and self control to deal with this breed, nor probably any other breed. The people I invariably place pups with are lovely, respectful, and just wonderful owners who show me early on that they have the maturity and life skills to manage this breed and work with me positively. Thank you to all of you. You’ll know you’re one of these people because you’ll read this page and think “I can’t believe the cheek of some people”. and “thanks for stuffing it up for the rest of us.”
We do prefer to meet our puppy people where ever possible after the initial stages of information are swapped. It is important for you to check us out in person. We have had numerous people fly in from interstate and overseas and whilst I know this is not always possible, please don’t ask me, like one person did recently, for me to drive half way to Sydney (4 hours each way) to meet him. That’s a firm no sunshine. (My words were a little saucier in my head).

I am looking for a portuguese water dog for sept. I am looking for a puppy, I am not bothered if it is a male or female. I am looking for a dog that is very active and will run with me or run beside the bike when I am going for a casual ride.
I am just wondering if you will have any puppies around that time? I am living in Sydney but I am moving to Adelaide in Sept for work so I am hoping to pick one up once I have moved and I am settled.

sounds like you’ve got a big adventure coming up! If you get the chance to come down to Melbourne, we’d love to have you visit to see our dogs, see them working, talk health stuff, check out temperament, etc and see if that matches with what you’re looking for that would be great!
I’m going to email you separately an info package. Sounds like our current pups will be outside your time frame but we could certainly put you down for the following litter if all works out. Remember, we never ever want people to think we are pushing them to buy. We’d rather everyone takes their time to make sure this is the right thing for them.
